Mini Amigurumi Monster

photo 4

I made this little monster for my dear friend, Jax, on her birthday!  It didn’t turn out as cute as I had hoped but it was fun to make!

I used a 3.5mm hook, rainbow yarn, some stuffing, one 8mm safety eye with green felt behind it and one 12mm eye.

I found the pattern on “CRAFTYisCOOL’s” blog.  She makes some amazing amigurumi – you should check her out!  The pattern was really easy to follow too.

photo 1    The pattern had the option of adding feet using a few double crochet stitches.  Great!

photo 3*To make a flat bottom, the pattern suggested to make a separate piece and sew it on.  Instead, I crocheted one round going through only the “inside/back loops.” (By doing this technique, it somehow angles the round inward.)  From there, I crocheted as I normally would and decreased each round to finish the project.  (My crochet teacher taught me this trick!)
